Cefpodoxime Proxetil 200 mg + Clavulanic Acid 125 mg Tablet

KEPODIL-CV 200 is effective in the treatment of infections caused by penicillinase-producing strains of bacteria.

KEPODIL-CV 200 has a broad spectrum activity as clavulanic acid extends the spectrum of antibiotics to b-lactamase producing microorganisms.

MODE OF ACTION:

    >  Cefpodoxime:Cefpodoxime kills bacteria by inhibiting cell wall synthesis by binding to target proteins.
    >  Clavulanicacid:Inhibit beta-lactamase enzyme and is used in combination to extend the anti-bacterial spectrum.

DOSAGE:
Adult dose: 1 Tab. (KEPODIL CV-200) 2 times in a day for 5-10 days.

Paediatric dose: 8-10mg / kg / day in two divided doses on the basis of Cefpodoxime content.

SAFETY PROFILE:
Pregnancy : Can be given.
Lactation : Given with caution.
Geriatrics : Can be given safely.

Contraindications: Hypersensitivity reactions to penicillin, cephalosporins and other beta-lactam antibiotics, beta-lactamase inhibitors or any excipient used in the formulations.
Precautions: Caution advised in patients receiving diuretics concurrently.
Adverse effects: Diarrheoa, nausea, vaginal fungal infections, vomiting, headache.
