CATEGORY: COUGH SUPPRESANT

INDICATIONS:

  • Dry cough associated with Respiratory Tract Infections,
  • Nasal congestion associated with Allergies or common cold.
  • Smoker’s cough

Dosage: 
Adults: 1 – 2 teaspoonful, 3-4 times daily.
Children: ½ – 1 teaspoonful, thrice daily.

Adverse events: Usually mild. Sedation, dizziness, insomnia, rash, dryness of nose and throat, thickening of bronchial secretions, epigastric discomfort, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation.
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to any ingredients of product, bronchial asthma, severe hypertension, severe coronary artery disease, narrow-angle glaucoma, urinary retention, peptic ulcer, MAOI therapy or for 2 wk after stopping MAOI therapy.

Precautions: Monitor pulse and BP periodically during therapy. Monitor patient for nervousness, dizziness, and insomnia.
