How ECOTHRAL works
- Inhibits protein synthesis by reversibly binding to the 50S subunit of bacterial ribosome, thus inhibits translation of mRNA
Contra-indications:
- Azithromycin is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to azithromycin, erythromycin, any macrolide or ketolide antibiotic
Precautions:
- Caution should be exercised when prescribing Azithromycin in patients with impaired hepatic function and impaired renal function.
